I think I have a case of the post-race blues...lol. Running "season" here is from Oct-May. There is about 1 race a month that I compete in (most of them are part of the Vancouver Island Race Series) and I love everything about training, racing and getting ready for the next one. Now the last one is done and I dont have anything till Oct... and I feel lost! On one hand I can tell I need a bit of a break...on the other hand...wahhhhhhh I dont want to break!!
Summer is busy and fun and I know I'll get over it and before I know it it will be time to start training for the October half-marathon. Now if I can just avoid gaining the summer weight that comes along with BBQ's, vacations, drinks and camping!!

On both Monday and Tuesday this week I ran 5 miles at an easy pace (around 9.5mins/mile). It was nice just to take it easy and not have to worry about speed. I was thinking of taking a rest day tomorrow but then I remembered we are headed out to dinner for my sisters birthday tomorrow night. I dont usually eat out on a weekday and feel like I should burn some calories if I'm going to be eating restaurant food! I didnt eat super great on Sunday and I suspect this week the best I can hope for is to maintain!
