CAFFEINE!!

I havent been sleeping that well lately. I'm the type who needs 8 hours. I go to bed early I get up early. I like to be asleep by 9:30 and then get up by 5:50. The last few nights I've been up till 11 and its starting to catch up to me. This morning I woke up and felt tired. My daughter was sick so I was staying home with her and I had a bunch of things I wanted to get done. But, I felt like I didnt even want to get up of the couch. I drank a coffee...which normally really gets me going as I'm pretty susceptible to caffeine. But it felt like nothing...like I had drunk decaf by mistake. So knowing I might pay the price I decided to have a second mug...

Well the next thing you know I'm scrubbing the kitchen top to bottom, doing a zillion loads of laundry and deciding screw the rest day...what I really should do is a speed drill on the treadmill!

(new shorts...I love any workout gear with pink!!) 

 So I decided I was going to do 5 mins warm up, and 20 mins of intervals, 5 mins of cool down. So I start my warm-up and then get this idea in my head that I have never run 6 min/miles before...and why not? Uncharted territory! That could be fun...and exciting! (see what caffeine does to me!!). So I decided instead of doing 10 intervals of 1 mins fast/ 1 mins recovery I would do 15. I would start at 7mins/mile and work my way down to 6 mins/mile.


It actually wasnt that bad. The sprinting definitely got a little fast near the end but it was in no way unmanageable or exhausting. Time to up the bar a bit :) I'm hiking for work tomorrow so it'll be a running rest day but still hopefully a good work out!
