Today was an early start to the day. My little one got up at 4am and I could not get her back down to sleep :( She's got a cold and cannot for the life of her figure out how to blow her nose so she keeps waking me up telling me her "nose is broken and she can hear the snots making noises inside". So I end up crawling into bed with her and whatever millions of toys she is sleeping with and trying to coax her back to sleep. Saturday night it took about an hour but I got her back down. Last night was a no go. I woke my husband up at 5:15 since it was his flex day and told him he needed to deal with her so I could lay down for about half an hour before work started...yuck!
I had interviews all day for work and so I knew I wasnt going to be able to get my lunch hour run in. I thought I would take a rest day but when I woke up there was an email saying our last interview of the day had cancelled. I packed my running gear thinking I could maybe get an hour in the end of day. We ended up going late though and by the time I got out all I had time for was a quick walk in the woods, which was still nice though.
I got home and the kids were disasters since they got up so early. Hanna almost fell asleep in her dinner! So I ended up putting them to bed pretty early. I made a batch of Skinnytaste BBQ chicken chili and put it in the slow cooker and realized it was still pretty early.
(sleepy girl!)
So I did something I very rarely do and got out for an evening run. I'm not sure I have ever run in the evening in the dark! I wore a blinking arm band and went around my neighborhood a bit. There's a hill nearby so I did 4 repeats and then a quick loop around the school, then back for 2 more repeats. I told myself I would feel better if I got out for 30 mins and I really did. I'm so all or nothing and sometimes I think there's no point in going out unless I'm doing at least 5 miles. But I did a little over 3 miles and was having a really good time. Then I got tired and hungry and headed back home :) 30 mins is better than nothing especially on a day where I spent most of it sitting in one room.
(am I really doing this? Oh ok this is fun)
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Hanna sleeps through the night tonight! Another day of interviews tomorrow...blah. Also you want to know whats awesome...when you go grocery shopping and think "Hey PB is on sale I should stock up and buy 4" then the very next week you go to the store and completely forget you did that the week before and do it all over again...
Thankfully we eat a lot of Peanut Butter cause we are stocked... :)
Also my daughter couldnt wait to point this out to me...
Nutella is my krytopnite. I do not keep it in the house as I have in the past had zero control when it was around. But, the idea of having a jar of it with my name on it I find very appealing! I cant tell if it would make me want to eat it slower because I would want to have the jar around longer. Or, if I would want to eat it more because not only is it Nutella but it is now basically calling my name...
